CV

Your CV should include full details of your previous production experience: date, title, production company or financier, and your credit. In order to gain full membership you must have at least 3 credits in the capacity for which you are applying. The credits should be on a complete production, this will not include 2nd unit, re-shoots/pick ups or pre-production or post production. Your three credits will need to demonstrate a range of employees i.e. different team or different financier structure. For example, BBC in house productions will count as one credit, franchise films such as Harry Potter will count as one credit.

Referees

Your 3 referees must be people that you have directly worked for on a complete production in the capacity for which you are applying. If you are unable to nominate three Guild members we will accept references from people you have recently worked with, who are of comparable standing to Guild Members within the industry and that support your application for Guild Membership. However, you must describe your relevant experience in the film and television media to the Membership Committee. The credits provided by your referees will determine whether your experience in that role is adequate for full membership.

Application Fee

There is a one-off £100 application fee for processing new membership with The Production Guild. Please therefore make sure that you attach a cheque made out to "The Production Guild" for this amount along with your application for membership. The cheque will only be cashed upon your acceptance as a member with the Guild and any unsuccessful applications will result in the cheque being returned to you. If you are sending your application by e-mail, please ensure that you also send the cheque to us by post at the address above.

I am constantly finding the guild to be an invaluable resource in all stages of production, providing clarity on all manner of issues.. It is equally effective in its capacity of facilitating discourse in many pressing and pertinent production issues such as their discussions with production management and unions in trying to establish a rate card for lower budget films. The Production Guild is also invaluable with their database for the membership availability.
